GOOD REASONS FOR PLANTING AN INSTANT HEDGE You can replace an old hedge which is past its best. You get immediate privacy from neighbours. It gives a new garden a more mature look. Larger root-balled hedging can be planted over a longer period than bare-root hedging. It saves several years of waiting for smaller hedges to grow.
